Pakistan resorting to cross border firing without any provocation: Lt Gen Saranjit Singh

General Commanding Officer 16 Corps, Lieutenant General Saranjit Singh Wednesday alleged that Pakistan this year resorted to massive shelling and firing and targeted civilian areas along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. He was responding to questions of reporters in border district Poonch.“This year, Pakistan violated cease fire and without any provocation targeted military posts and civilian areas. We also gave them befitting reply,” he said and added that army has constructed bunkers and when need arises, civilians can be accommodated in them. Lieutenant General Saranjit Singh said that they are in touch with state administration and bunkers will be constructed for the safety of the civilians. esponding to a question, Singh said that so many militants are on launching pads across border and are trying to cross in this part of Kashmir. “Pakistan is encouraging these militants and helps them to infiltrate but we are alert and will foil their every attempt,” he said.
