Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the forthcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag, Shopian, Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Leh, Kargil, Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora districts participated in the meeting through video conferencing while Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Chief Engineers of various departments, SSP Traffic, SP Hazratbal and officials of Wakf Board, Health Department, SMC, FCS&CA attended the meeting.Addressing the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner directed for making all essential commodities available and all facilities to be provided uninterrupted. He directed for immediately making a Control Room functional under the supervision of ACR at Dargah Hazratbal. He directed the officials of PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all the congregation sites in the Kashmir division during the entire period. He also directed for the restoration of street lights in and around these areas. He said that the largest congregation will be held at Dargah Hazratbal and additional staff will be deployed wherever needed.

The Div Com directed the officials to make all street lights functional at the Hazratbal and keep a Genset on standby condition in case there is a power failure. The Divisional Commissioner also directed for making provision of safe drinking water, adequate supply of ration, healthcare facilities, fire fighting arrangements, parking facilities and ensuring cleanliness at Hazratbal Shrine and at all other Masjids and shrines where a large number of devotees are expected to arrive.The State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) officials informed the meeting that around 20 vehicles shall be made available for the transportation of devotees and further buses will be provided according to need.On the occasion, Baseer Ahmad Khan directed the officials of R&B to carry out repair works on all important roads leading to the congregation sites. He also directed for intensifying market checking to curb profiteering and hoarding.  Seeking details of related preparations made in their respective districts, he directed the Deputy Commissioners to immediately hold meetings with all the concerned departments to ensure all the instructions are abided by.The Div Com directed the FCS&CA director to ensure that adequate amount of rice, sugar, kerosene, wheat are available at all the localities around the important shrines.
