DDC Pulwama flags off farmers’ tour

District Development Commissioner Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Pulwama today flagged off farmers’ tour.During the tour, organized by Horticulture Department under MIDH, 38 farmers will visit reputed horticulture institution ‘Central Institute of Temperature Horticulture’ Srinagar. A major thrust of this visit will remain on dissemination of information on modern scientific know how and applied technology in horticulture sector.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the farmers to take full advantage of such programmes. He further said that such programmes which benefit the farmers at large and help them in getting advance techniques of farming should be organized at regular intervals.According to the Chief Horticulture Officer Pulwama farmers will get an opportunity to interact with scientists and will be given the practical demonstration of the latest technology and technique in the field of horticulture.Chief Horticulture Officer, R K Kotwal, HDOs and larger number of farmers were present on the occasion.
