A delegation of newly elected members of the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Faculty Forum today called on Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Asiea Naqash to apprise her of issues confronted by the Institute’s faculty The delegation comprised Prof Sameer Naqash (Executive Secretary), Prof Shoukat Khan (Executive Member- Professor), Dr M Iqbal Lone (Executive Member Additional Professor), and Dr MuzafarMaqsood (Executive Member-Associate Professor) met the Minister here today.The members of the Faculty Forum raised issues regarding ongoing faculty interviews at SKIMS for faculty promotions and appointments to new faculty, full implementation of SRO 283 that equates SKIMS faculty in terms of appointment, pay, allowances, retirement age and other perks with AIIMS New Delhi.The Minister gave the delegation a patient hearing and assured them that she would ensure that all of their genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned quarters at the earliest for prioritized redress.
