Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today reviewed the progress under district plan and major development projects taken up in the district here at a meeting of line departments.Minister of State Ajay Nanda, District Development Commissioner, Prasanna Ramaswamy G, Director Food, Civil, Supplies & Consumers R A Inqlabi, Director Tribal Affairs, Controller Legal Metrology R.K Katoch, ADDC Ramesh Chander, ACR Harbans Sharma other senior officers of district administration attended the meeting.Stressing on the need to ensure judicious and optimal utilization of funds, the Minister directed the officers to adhere to the fixed timelines for completion of the developmental projects. He directed the officers to conduct frequent visits to remote and far flung areas of the district to ensure quality of works on the ground.The Minister sought details about the plans and proposals for augmenting basic facilities for common people, especially ST and SC population. He advised the administration to focus on the schemes which are nearing completion to provide early benefit to the people.
For starting the work on pending 14 PMGSY road projects, the Minister called for immediate removal of bottlenecks for providing connectivity to the left out habitations. He asked the DDC to take separate review of PMGSY and start work on the pending road projects in both divisions of Reasi and Mahore.The PHE department was directed to take up all the schemes and complete these in time bound manner. He said it would be more effective if schemes are prioritized keeping in view the requirement of a particular area.The Minister passed instructions for completion of District Hospital complex, shifting of Mahore hospital to new building at Kansoli, Degree College building at Dharmari, work of bridges, submission of project for SSP residence, auditorium complex and all other major development works.The Minister also stressed for identification of works in convergence mode and laying more stress on connecting small habitations by constructing bridges and bridle paths.The Minister also took comprehensive review of tribal sub plan and asked the district administration to utilize allocated funds fully and judiciously to avoid surrender at the end of year. He asked the DC to submit a plan for the development of tribal people.
