Massive awareness campaign held across Rajouri under SVEEP

The District Election Cell today organised series of activities ahead of additional special summary revision camps being held from tomorrow across the district. Several innovative activities were held in all the Assembly Constituencies (AC) under Election Commission of India's Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme to motivate potential and left-out voters to enroll themselves in the electoral roll.The Programmes were held in higher secondary schools, colleges, G&B and Pahari hostels under the overall supervision and guidance of Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, District Election Officer.Principals and faculty of GDCs, Chief Education Officer, Electoral Registration Officers, SDMs, AEROs besides students in large number participated in the promotional activities.The activities featured Road shows, seminars, debates, symposia, skits, rallies.The voters were administered pledges during rallies taken out to educate people about registration and give wide publicity to the schedule for additional special summary revision camps starting from tomorrow.

Nodal Officer SVEEP Rajouri, Waqar Talib,  informed that awareness programmes regarding additional special summary revision camps were held in seven Government Degree Colleges, Pahari hostel, Gujjars-Bakerwal hostel and various higher secondary schools, where hundreds of young voters mainly students were sensitised about registration process.Besides distributing registration forms (Form-6), potential and left-out voters, especially eligible youth were educated and encouraged to register themselves through National Voters Service Portal by logging in at www.nvsp.in.The DEO Dr Shahid has emphasized on giving wide publicity and enabling effective leverage of ECI's user friendly National Voters Service Portal to potential and left-out voters for registration. He   laid emphasis on cent percent registration of eligible and left-out female and Specially Abled voters.The programmes were also attended by ERO Rajouri AC Abdul Qayoom Mir, ERO Nowshera AC, Kartar Singh, ERO Darhal AC, Gopal Singh, ERO Kalakote AC, Khalid Wafa, SDMs Abdul Sattar and Afzal Mirza, CEO Ch. Lal Hussain, DSWO Dr. Abdul Khabir, Tehsildar Mohd Raiyaz, DIO Mohammad Shafait besides AEROs supervised and led SVEEP programmes at various educational institutions across the district.
