DDC Doda listens to public issues at Bharath

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bhawani Rakwal today visited village Bharath and convened a public grievance redress camp to listen to the issues of the local people.The DDC was accompanied by the district and sectoral officers, while a large number of locals  and people from surrounding areas including Bagla and Kalihand attended the camp. The DDC interacted with the people and listened to their problems and grievances.  The DDC issued on the spot directions to officers concerned for the early redress of certain grievances projected by the people. He   assured that rest of the demands shall be taken up for concrete outcome.The issues/ demands raised by the public included payment of compensation to owners of land acquired for Bharath-Nagni Road, black topping of remaining stretch of Bharath-keshawn road, development of tourism infra at Nagni Dhar, opening of a handicraft centre at Bharath, release of payment under MGNREGA, activation of irrigation and flood control centre for slide prone zone, repair of HT line and augmentation of power supply, establishment of local unit of floriculture, agriculture and fisheries departments in the area to facilitate the local population  mainly dependent on agricultural and allied activities.

In response to the demands for payment under MGNREGA, ACD Doda informed the Deputy Commissioner that around 50% of the payment shall be released within a week. Meanwhile the DDC also said that the district has a liability of Rs 30 crore  for compensation payments, which shall be distributed on priority as soon as the payment is released.Responding to the demand of black topping of Bharath keshwan road, XEN R&B said that BT has already been done on 3.2 km of 4km stretch up to Nallah , while the work on  rest 800 metre will be started as soon as the Intend is received by the deptt.The agriculture department was directed to provide best quality seeds to the farmers and start the distribution process at the earliest.   Fisheries deptt was asked to identify beneficiaries and patches of land near water bodies and submit the consolidated report to ACD Doda for construction of the ponds in convergence with RDD for pisciculture.

Similarly deptt of FCS&CA was directed to expedite the process of correction in ration cards and ensure the distribution of available ration cards to the beneficiaries in a speedy and transparent  manner. It was emphasised upon Social welfare department to forward the pending cases under pension schemes for sanction.Deputy Commissioner directed the PDD to identify the weak points in HT line to Bharath and take up necessary repair of poles, lines and transformers wherever required. It was impressed upon Sheep husbandry department to hold  cattle vaccination camps to reduce  livestock mortality rate in the area.The DDC instructed the concerned to take serious note of the demands regarding   additional staff in schools, SRTC bus for Bharath, free timber for local residents, availability of wheat flour instead of grains   and resolve the issue in shortest span of time.The team of officers present included ACD Akhter Hussian Qazi, CPO Yoginder Katoch, Xen R&B Doda, Xen PMGSY, CMO Doda, DPO Doda, ARTO and other officers of district administration.
