Minister for Youth Services & Sports, IT and Technical Education, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari asked district administration, Bandipora to be proactive in resolving people's problems and ensure timely completion of developmental projects targeted for current financial year.The Minister, who is also the chairman District Development Board (DDB) Bandipora, was addressing the DDB review meeting at Bandipora today.
Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, legislators, Usman Majeed and Yasir Rashi, District Development Commissioner Bandipora (DDC) Sajjad Hussain, Heads of various Departments besides sectoral and District Officers attended the meeting.The meeting had thread bare discussion on physical and financial achievements of various Development schemes under district/state sector, centrally sponsored schemes and flagship Programmes.The action taken reports of previous board decisions were also reviewed in the meeting.The Minister, taking cognizance of the demands put forth by legislators, took several decisions. Those decisions include construction of kissar- Khandiyal_Athwatoo road, installation of 5 fire tenders in Gurez, posting of doctors on monthly rotation basis at far-flung areas, augmentation of receiving station at Aloosa, providing of funds for purchase of machinery equipment for health institutions, supply of timber in Bandipora and augmentation of water supply in Sumbal.The Minister exhorted upon the officers to always listen the legislators as they are the person who know the problems of the people at ground level. He stressed for dedicating all the completed form projects to the people at an earliest, adding that the goal of present Government is that the people should avail the services without any hurdles.
Earlier, the DDC briefed the meeting about the achievements and said that out of total availability of Rs.36.58 crore under CAPEX budget of Rs.105.53 crore, Rs 21.05 crore, constituting 58% have been expended on execution of various development projects and welfare schemes during current financial year till September end.The DDC informed that 31 various Development Projects costing Rs 160.57crore are near completion and would be commissioned during current fiscal. These projects include District Hospital Bandipora, Community Health Centre, Hajin, Degree College Gurez, Maternity Cum Trauma Hospital, Dak Bungalows at Bandipora and Sumbal, 5 water supply schemes besides various roads and buildings.The meeting also reviewed the progress of Rural Development, PDD, PHE, Health and Education sectors.Reviewing the stock and supply position of border tehsils of Gurez and Tulial, it was given out that sufficient stocking of food grains, medicine for Hospitals have been dispatched to cater the requirements of the people till June next. Regarding dumping of diesel for DG sets, it was informed that 45 tankers have already been dumped at Gurez while as 60 more tankers are being dispatched by November 15.Deputy Speaker Nazir Gurezi, Legislators, Usman Majeed and Yasir Reshi also spoke on the occasion and highlighted various issues of their respective areas.
