Religious fervor marks Dussehra celebration at Samba

Dussehra was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour here at today. Thousands of people participated in the celebrations as the effigies of Ravan, Kumbkarna and Meghnath were consigned to flames marking victory of truth over evil.Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga was the Chief Guest on the occasion.The Minister greeted people and hoped that this festival would be harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State. He said that the colourful festivals represent the rich cultural and religious heritage of India and act as a bond among people of different communities together.The programme was organised by Social Youth Club Samba and Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP).Earlier, a colourful procession showcasing the scenes of Holy Ramayana was taken out in which a large number of devotees participated.Adequate arrangements of security, barricading, drinking water, power supply and medicare facilities   were made by the District Administration.
