30 Day's Passed : Youth who Disappeared From Army Custody in Kupwara Still Missing

Lolab Area Of north kashmirs district Kupwara  had a studden  shock   When Government Forces had allegedly thrashed two young local youth namely Nasrullah Khan S/O Shareefullah Khan aged 28 and Manzoor S/O Gh Qadir aged 26 hailing from Dewar, Lolab after arresting them at Thrumkh top (Baakhi) in the outskirts of Dewar Forest adjacent to Banidpora district. Nasrullah was released after being thrashed severely however even after almost a month there are no traces of Manzoor.Manzoor  Khan was allegedly detained by army’s 27 RR on August 31, after which he went missing and the family is losing hope of seeing him again. Nasrullah a labourer was out in the Thurmukh Forest to pick firewood when he was arrested by the Army, however the army has refuted the allegations and said the youth in not with the Army, in fact they alleged that the Army never arrested Manzoor. 

However the villagers allege that several witnesses saw the army detaining Manzoor and Nasrullah and noting their names in the register.The family of Manzoor Khan while speaking to '5 Dariya News' said that they had some hope when the Kupwara police registered a case against the Army. A Minister also promised them help, however he went to Srinagar with promising any help at the last, the family said. “The army denied that they ever arrested Manzoor". We have lost all the hope of ever seeing Manzoor again. We at least deserve to know if he has been killed or he is alive,” a friend of Manzoor told ‘That.’The disappearance of the youth has entered the 30th day and the family has not rescued the disappeared Manzoor yet. On Day 1, the disappeared youth made headlines on Kashmir newspapers; however there was hardly any follow up from anyone.The officials told ‘'5 Dariya News'   that A magisterial enquiry has been initiated in the case and the police is trying its best to find the missing youth, but a  family has lost a bread earner.
