"The restructuring of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) is being carried out paving the way for filling of vacant posts. This would also lead to the useful utilization of the present staff." Disclosing this, the Chairman of the board and Secretary, Education, Mr. Krishan Kumar said that as per the directions of the Education Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary many significant pro-employee decisions have been taken which include resolving the cases of 4-9-14 of employees, completion of probation period, conducting meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) twice in a year and redressing issues pertaining to seniority lists pending since long.In a statement after meeting the employees association of board here today at board office, all the employees of the board have been assured that no employee would be sacked after the restructuring instead the exercise would result in paving the way for filling up vacant posts in the board. The Secretary further said that the restructuring was to be done as per the orders of the Finance Department and a committee was constituted under the leadership of Vice-Chairman Mr. Prashant Kumar Goyal to know the ground realities. He also said that the restructuring resolution was passed only after the submission of committee report. He further informed that the case concerning filling up of 226 vacancies has been sent to the Finance Department and now with restructuring, there are hopes of case being accorded sanction.

Mr. Krishan Kumar further divulged that the employees of the board need not have any doubt because the Government is taking all the decisions keeping their and students' interests in mind. Disclosing more, he said that the computerization has lead to the working becoming easier and because of that some vacancies had to be abolished. He also informed that this doesn't mean that any presently serving employee would be removed. Making other announcements, he said that the pending cases related to the promotion of board employees would be disposed off in 15 days. Adding more, the Secretary said that the new recruitment of professionally qualified staff would lead to improvement in the single window system working. He also said that the board had formed some teams recently and sent these to the bigger states of the country to study the working structure of the education boards there.The Secretary also said that the work related to the digitization of board's work system is currently under progress which would result in easy and speedy disposal of work and this would be in the interests of the students too. With this, the working pertaining to certificate verification and procuring of duplicate copy would be hassle free.Mr. Krishan Kumar also assured the employee association of the board that they can forward their suggestions regarding the better functioning of board in writing along with facts which would be duly considered. He also instructed the Secretary of the board to see to it that the grievances of the people coming from far off places to get their work done and facing problems are resolved and take the services of the Education Department staff if need be.On the occasion, Vice Chairman of the board and Director General School Education Mr. Prashant Kumar Goyal and the Secretary of the board Mr. J.R. Mehrok were also present.
