MP Nazir Laway chairs DDCMC meet at Shopian

Member Parliament Rajya Sabha and Chairman, District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC), Shopian Nazir Ahmad Laway, today reviewed developmental works taken up in the district under Action Plan 2016-2017.The meeting reviewed physical and financial scenario of schemes such as MG NAREGA, PMGSY, CRF, SSA, RMSA, DDUGJY, ICTS, NHM, NSAP, SBM-G, SBM, NRLM, PMAY-G, PMUY and other Centrally-sponsored schemes through detailed power point presentation by DDC Shopian Mohammad Aijaz.Nazir Laway urged the district officers and agencies involved in execution and implementation of these schemes to ensure that equitable development takes place in the district Shopian.He said the ongoing projects taken up under different central schemes must be completed on time. The MP directed the District Development Commissioner, who is monitoring the DDCMC implementation, to prepare a detailed report on overall progress achieved in these schemes at district level under Action Plan 2016-2017 and priorities for 2017-2018.

While initiating developmental works in their respective constituencies, the MP urged the officers to take concerned public representatives into confidence. He asked the executing agencies and implementing partners to regularly inspect the works so that the progress on the ground can be tracked.During the meeting, it was given out that under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen the approved outlay for the year 2017-18  is Rs 531.72 lakhs, targeting 389 houses, out of which 292 have been verified/ sanctioned.It was revealed that under Swatch Bharat Mission urban, 50 households have applied out of which 40 cases have been approved. Under SBM Grameen, total number of households without toilet as on October 2014 was 29417, out of which 12323 households have been covered as of August 2017.The availability of funds under SBM Grameen Mission during 2017-18 were 197.41 lacs, out of which 148.87 lacs has been expended upto 31-08-2017.Reviewing, the PHE scenario, the officers said that out of 458 habitations, 309 habitations have been fully covered, while 149 are partially. Out of 92 water supply schemes in the district, 59 have been completed and 5 more are targeted to be completed by the end of 2017-18. The estimated cost for 33 ongoing schemes is 10887.08 lacs with expenditure 6363.83 by end of 03-2017.

Similarly under Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana, 6420 gas connections have been provided to the BPL households.Under SSA, against the targeted 201 new school buildings to be opened, 200 have been completed. Likewise against the target of 137 upgradation works 137 have been completed. Further, it was revealed against the target of 282 constructions of primary blocks in district Shopian 278 have been completed. The target under construction of additional classrooms was fixed at 423 and out of which 410 have been completed. It was also given that under Mid Day meals, 20648 students have been covered. The approved outlay for MDM for the year 2107-18 was 264 lacs and out of which 52.43 lacs has been spent.All the members stressed upon timely submission of work estimates and to avoid any unnecessary delays. MLA Shopian and MLA Wachi also spoke on occasion and highlighted vital issues pertaining to their constituencies.MLA Shopian, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat,  MLA Wachi, Aijaz Ahmad Mir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Parvez Sajad, ACD, ACR, CPO, DPO, executive engineers of various engineering departments and other district officers were present in the meeting.
