Chief Secretary reviews pace of construction works at Central University Kashmir

The Chief Secretary BB Vyas today visited Tulmulla Ganderbal and took stock of Construction works undertaken at Central University being executed by National Building Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC).The officials informed the Chief Secretary that 28 acres (300 Kanals) out of total 110 acres marshy land earmarked for establishment of University have been area graded (filled) by clay so far. “Besides 80% of construction area has been filled where as rest 20% area will be filled within ensuing one month,” Officials said adding that tendering process for Construction works will be initiated soon.Vyas expressed dissatisfaction over sluggish pace of construction works for establishment of this highest institution of learning and research. He instructed concerned authorities and officers of the agency to attend a scheduled meeting in his office to gear up the pace of construction work in this regard.The Chief Secretary latter paid obeisance at Mata Khir Bhawani Tulmulla and prayed for welfare, prosperity and peace of the state.MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Dr. Piyush Singla, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Srinagar, SSP, ADDC, ADC Ganderbal and officers from Central University and officers of NBCC were present on the occasion.
