family of Mudasir Javed, a Junior Engineer, who allegedly committed suicide few months back, Tuesday staged protest, demanding re-arrest of the accused husband saying that he was bailed out without proper investigation. The family and relatives of Mudasir holding the banners and placards displaying, the image of Mudasir and her son and slogans assembled at Srinagar’s press Enclave and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice.’ The protesting family alleged that after arresting few members of the in-laws of Mudasir including her husband, police failed to file a strong against them as a result they were bailed out by court of law. They demanded that the husband of Mudasir and her in-laws should be re-arrested and a strong case should be filed against them.Pertinently, Mudasir Javed wife of Javed Ahmad Bungree of Illahi Bagh Soura, an engineer allegedly committed suicide by jumping into River Jehlum near Old Zaina Kadal Bridge on May 5 this year.The protesting family said that Mudasir was a staid and wise lady and would not have taken the extreme step without any reason.“She was well off, educated, earning her livelihood herself, having an issue as well, what else one needs to live a happy life,” they said.“We are dead sure she was killed by in-laws and we demand a thorough investigation into her killings,” they said.
