Governor Acharya Devvrat today launched three campaigns based on de-addiction, cleaniness and education from Malana in Kullu district. He visited Malana to attend the function organized by Indian Oil Corporation to distribute LPG connections to the beneficiaries under Ujjwala scheme of the Government of India.Speaking on the occasion the Governor expressed happiness the people of this area had preserved their rich cultural heritage. He exhorted the people to ensure education to the girl child. He expressed concerned that cleaniness was a major issue in Malana on which the work should be done at Panchayat level. He assured that a campaign would be launched for promoting production of medicinal herbs, which were available in abundance in the area besides providing marketing facilities.He distributed gas connections to 20 beneficiaries on this occasion.Acharya Devvrat became the first Governor of the State to reach Malana, which is considered as the oldest democracy of the world. His wife Smt. Darshna Devi accompanied him. Chief Regional Manager, Indian Oil Corporation V.K. Sunderiyal and Advisor to the Governor Dr. Shashi Kant Sharma were also present on the occasion.
