Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi today stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure proper maintenance of parks and green patches of Jammu region as Parks provide intrinsic environmental, aesthetic, and recreation benefits to the people.The Minster was speaking at the meeting convened to review of development of parks in Jammu region here today.Commissioner JMC M. Raju, VC JDA Rajesh Sharma, Director Floriculture Jammu Babila Rakwal, JC Works JMC Kushal Chand, Executive Engineer Patnitop Development Authority Ashwani Kumar Anand, Co-Convener INTACH Dr. C. M. Sein, CEO Surinsar Mansar Development Authority Arvind Kotwal,, Manager J&K Tourism Development Corporation Suresh Kumar, besides other senior officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.Threadbare discussion was held on various vital issues pertaining to developmental works and maintenance of parks. 

Priya Sethi asked the concerned departments including Jammu Municipal Corporation, JDA, Housing, Social Forest and other departments to work in close coordination with the Floriculture Department to ensure proper upkeep and beautification of parks.

 She further stressed for preparing a roadmap and constitute a committee for ensuring timely maintenance and development of various parks in Jammu and also stressed for establishing play grounds in some parks for children’s recreation.Minister said that Floriculture department will provide the requisite assistance to  all other organizations  in shape of on job Training, landscaping expertise, providing composite manure etc to ensure better management of the parks.She also asked to take up proper identification of parks held by various organisations by colour coding. She also stressed on setting up of a Committee of officers from concerned departments and to hold quarterly meetings to work in tandem to make Jammu beautiful.She directed the concerned agencies to ensure beautification of green patches alongside Airport to Satwari road adding that the tourists which come for Pilgrimage to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji and other tourism spots of the State plying through this road in large numbers.

 Priya said that it is important that requisite facilities are provided to the people and specially children in these parks which act as lungs of the cities providing recreational space.
