Chief Secretary reviews developmental scenario at Sopore

Chief Secretary, B B Vyas, today chaired a meeting of officers at Dak Bungalow Sopore to review the status of various developmental projects under execution in Sopore town.The meeting was attended by DGP Dr S P Vaid, IG North Kashmir, DDC Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, SSP Sopore, ADC Baramulla, ADC Sopore, engineers of line departments and other district and sectoral officers.During the meeting, B B Vyas took a comprehensive review of various ongoing projects, being informed that out of the total allocated budget almost 65% of it has been utilized and that work on the remaining is actively going on.The Chief Secretary, who took a sector-wise review of the departments, exhorted upon the concerned to speed up the pace of work so that they are completed within their stipulated time-frames.B B Viyas stressed on ensuring availability of all essentials and directed the concerned to provide uninterrupted power and water supply so that people face no inconvenience. He urged upon the officers to work with zeal and enthusiasm and adopt new and modern technologies so that the pace of work is prompted.While reviewing the dredging process of river Jhelum, the Chief Secretary directed the concerned to mobilize men and machinery so that the work is completed at the earliest.During the meeting, the Chief Secretary was also appraised about various issues hampering the pace of developmental work. He assured of their redress in a time bound manner.
