The District Development Commissioner, Pulwama Ghulam Muhammad Dar today flagged off the cleanliness drive “Swachhata he Sewa” from District Administrative Complex Pulwama.Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, District Panchayat Officer, Executive officer Municipal Corporation besides no. of employees of the Govt departments and local people were also present on the occasion.During the two-week-long, cleanliness drive, seminars, painting competitions and essay competitions will be organized in all the educational institutions of the District while as large scale cleaning of Offices, Hospitals, Schools, Aganwardi Centers, Parks, Bus Stops, road sides, prominent water bodies, community toilets and other public places will be done in coming days.On the occasion DDC highlighted the importance of sanitation and its positive consequences and stressed upon the officers to coordinate with each other so that the campaign becomes a success. He exhorted the concerned officers to motivate the people for large public participation in sanitation.The DDC urged all the Departments to work in coordination to make this campaign a great success.He asked Officers to plan activities in such a manner that will generate interest in the sanitation drive.It is pertinent to mention here that the said drive is being organised from 15th of September to 2nd of October, 2017 throughout the state.The program will end with the pledge to keep the environment clean and pollution free.
