Governor Acharya Devvrat distributed Raj Bhasha Puraskar to the officers and employees of various departments and corporations of the state during 'Raj Bhasha Hindi Samman Samaroh' organized here today by the Art, Language and Culture Department.Speaking on the occasion, he said that we should feel proud on Hindi language, which could unite the nation in a bond. He said that almost all developed countries achieved the heights of development by promoting their mother tongue. However, in India, no serious efforts had been made to give due status to Hindi language. He expressed concern that most of the higher institutes were doing injustice with Hindi and the priority was being given to foreign language. On the other hand, the nations like Japan and Israel had shown the way to the world by relying on their own languages. The Governor said that Hindi was spoken in more than 123 countries and there was need for adopting a practical shape for promoting this language instead of fulfilling the formalities. He appreciated the efforts of Art, Language & Culture Department for promoting Hindi and congratulated the award winners.Acharya Devvrat also released the annual magazine of the department on this occasion. He gave away prizes to the students who won various competitions organized by the department.Director, LAC Shri Ram Kumar Gautam apprised about the activities organized during Hindi fortnight.
