Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today inaugurated the newly constructed Kisan Bhawan at Dhalli in Shimla, completed with an outlay of Rs. 4.50 crore and there after he laid foundation stone of second phase of Vegetable market at Dhalli. He also laid foundation stone of Subzi Mandi at Ranthou at Kothkhai, online.The Kisan Bhawan has 26 rooms besides a dormitory having 32 beds and a conference Hall with a capacity to house 400 persons and a parking to accommodate 25 vehicles. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government was committed for the welfare of the farmers and horticulturalists of the state.Managing Director, HP State Agriculture Marketing Board, Shri Harminder Singh Baweja said that the second phase of Dhalli Subzi Mandi would be completed with an outlay of Rs. 10 crore. He said the Vegetable market at Ranthou would be completed with an outlay of Rs 2.50 crore. He said that with the opening of these two vegetable and fruit markets, the farmers of the area would find market for sale of produce near to their homes. Last year the Dhalli Subzi Mandi gave profit of Rs 520 crore to the horticulturalists and farmers of Shimla region.Welcoming the Chief Minister, Chairman APMC, Shimla Kinnaur Shri Mahinder Stan thanked him for laying foundation stones worth 12.50 crore. He said that a Subzi mandi would also be constructed at Sandu (Tharmatti ) near Theog.MLA Shri Anirudh Singh, Vice-Chairman HPTDC Shri Harish Janartha, Chairman APMC Kullu and Lahaul Spiti Shri Upendarkant Mishra, Vice-Chairman HPSIDC Shri Atul Sharma, Chairperson State Women Commission Smt. Janeb Chandel, Chairperson, Commission for protection of Child Rights Smt. Kiran Dhanta, General Secretary, HP Welfare Council for Child welfare Smt. Rajkumari Soni were also present on the occasion among others.
