Vigilance recovers heroine, poppy husk, sedative tablets, cash, liquor, mobiles from SHO during trap case

Punjab Vigilance Bureau has confiscated heroine, poppy husk, sedative tablets, cash and 15 mobiles from the residence of SHO police station Amir Khas in Ferozepur district after he was nabbed red handed during a trap yesterday.Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said the accused Inspector Sahib Singh was caught on the spot by a vigilance team while he was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 50,000 from complainant Vijay Kumar of Jalalabad.He further informed that the accused SHO had already received Rs. 1,20,000 from the complainant to release his truck loaded with wheat on sapurdari and was demanding Rs. one lakh more of which one installment of Rs 50,000 was being handed over to him but he was nabbed red handed. In this regard VB has registered a case against the accused u/s 7, 13(2) Prevention of Corruption act at PSVB Ferozepur.After the trap the VB team made searches at his office in Police Station as well as his residence. The spokesperson further revealed that the Vigilance have found Rs 4500 cash, one mobile and two cheques without any date having amount of Rs 1,50,000 and Rs. 1,00,000 were signed by Harpreet Singh. In addition to this Rs 20,000 cash was also recovered from the drawer of his table.He further said the vigilance team was astonished during the recoveries made from his residential quarter, which included 4.8gm heroine, 580gm poppy husk, 89 sedative tablets, 7.7gm  narco powder, 6 bottles of IMFL brand and 15 mobiles phones were recovered.He said that the Vigilance has registered another case against the accused inspector u/s 61 of Punjab Excise Act, u/s 15, 21, 22, 61, 85 of NDPS Act at PS Jalalabad, Fazilka district.
