To serve people at their doorsteps, the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today listened to issues of locals at a public grievances redressal camp held in Ramgarh.A large number of people projected their demands related to road connectivity, water supply, power infrastructure and other basic amenities.The Minister gave a patient hearing and directed the concerned officials to adopt a proactive approach to resolve the problems of the locals at the earliest. He said government wants to give people a feel of good governance for which every department has to put in extra efforts. He asked the departments to attend people as per the provisions of Public Services Guarantee Act(PSGA)   

Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda, SDM Vijaypur, Ravinder Sharma, Additional SP Samba, Adil Hamid, district officers and other senior functionaries of various departments were present on the occasion.Responding to the demands of the people, the Minister directed for installation of 10 MVA Transformer in the area within 15 days to improve the power supply. He further directed the concerned authorities to resolve the problem of shortage of water by installing hand pumps and extending pipelines to the water stressed areas.The Minister directed the TSO to resolve the issue of ration cards, if any, and streamline the process of distribution of ration at supply depots. He said Government has decided to open more ration depots to take the supply to the doorsteps of the people.Ganga also directed the concerned officials to provide better road connectivity in the area and further said that he is resolute to provide better infrastructural facilities to the people.

Emphasizing on self-employment, the Minister distributed 10 sewing machines out of his discretionary grant among local women to enable them to supplement their family income.Describing education as key to development, the Minister stressed the need to upgrade schools to facilitate young generation to carry on their studies with ease.The Minister also recommended for providing free ration to a poor widow of the area and directed the concerned department to process her case for widow pension. The Minister also handed over   cash assistance of Rs 10,000 to the widow.He also informed that the cases of around 550 eligible persons of the area have been recommended for pension and the case of more deserving people would be process for the same.The Minister reiterated that the State Government is devoted to provide all the basic amenities to the people. “The agenda of our government is to take development to every corner of the state for which it has formulated a comprehensive plan,” the Minister added. Stressing on participatory governance, the Minister called upon the people to actively participate in the development process. He also asked them to take benefits of various welfare schemes launched by the state and central government.The Minister directed the concerned officials to identify the land for the landless and cover them under the  housing for all scheme.The Minister also took a detailed review of ongoing development works in the area and sought feedback of his earlier directions. He said more such public meetings would be held to redress the grievances of the people.
