The persecution of Muslims in Myanmar sparked multiple protests in Kashmir Valley on Wednesday.Scores of traders from Srinagar city assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar and condemned the brutal killings of men, women and children in Myanmar.The protesting traders holding placards and banners appealed Islamic countries to intervene and force Aung San Sui Kyi led Burma government to stop persecution of Rohingya Muslims.The protesting traders castigated Muslim countries for maintaining silence over the grave issue, though they hailed the efforts of Iran and Turkey.Police barred the protesters from hitting to roads and detained some of them at Police Station Kothibagh.Students of Amar Singh College Srinagar also staged a protest against the killings of Rohingya Muslims in Burma. They set the effigy of de-facto ruler of Burma on fire.They were also holding placards and banners like, “Down with Myanmar, Turkey Zindabad, Myanmar Murdabad, Stop Innocent Killings in Myanmar.”Reports from Tral town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district said  that hundreds of students of Government Degree College staged a protest demonstration against the killings and persecution of Muslims in Myanmar.The protesting students assembled at the main Bajwani campus here and marched towards bus stand Tral.They were holding anti-Myanmar demonstrations while demanding justice for Muslims persecuted by Myanmar military and mobs in the Rakhine state.The protesters dispersed peacefully after registering their protest.Meanwhile, Mechanical Irrigation Employees Federation has supported the call forwarded by EJAC to organize protests against the brutal killings of Rohingya Muslims on September 8. The Federation president Farooq Ahmed Khan appealed employees to assemble at Municipal Park Srinagar and express solidarity with the persecuted Burmese Muslims.  (CNS)
