Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh while addressing a public meeting at Kando-Kansar in remote Dharti-Dhar area of Renuka Assembly constituency today announced to open Government Degree College at Dadahu. This was the long pending demand of the people of the area. The College will cater to the educational needs of around 25 panchayats of the area.  With this, the total strength of the colleges in the State will go upto 130 out of which 51 colleges have been opened in the tenure of the present government. He said that the other Panchayats of Dharti-Dhar area would be provided with Drinking water and Irrigational schemes. Since the area is quite remote and scattered, the Government, when back in power in the elections, would certainly provide water facilities to the area. "I was amazed to see that a person from Solan came and got himself seated in Nahan by luring the people", said Shri Virbhadra Singh.  Making a veiled attack on former BJP Minister, he said that the BJP leader had amassed wealth  by purchasing 'Benami' Property and grabbing compensation in lieu of the same by involving few of his associates. He not only cheated the village folks but also the people of Nahan, who use to consider themselves too smart for him. "I have heard that the BJP leader was now in search of a new field, for another constituency to contest elections', said Chief Minister.

He urged people to never vote in favour of an outsider, adding that the person who keeps changing his home, becomes a rolling stone and can never think of welfare of people.Shri Virbhadra Singh said there were few persons influenced by money power were now in dilemma as they have lost their land and compensation for the same as well. The person was successful in getting power of attorney from the villagers in his name and thereafter claimed compensation on escalated rates from the project authorities. He stressed upon preservation of culture and customs and said that one should not part with one’s language, traditions and culture. He said that there were hardly 280 kilometers of roads were there during the formation of the State and the total road length now in the state was around 37 thousand kilometers. The remote areas had been connected with roads under Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojna. He said that apart from Ginger and Garlic and other crops, the people should shift to off-season pattern of  farming in the area. The per-capita income of the State was now 1,47,277 which indicates the economic growth of HImachal Pradesh.

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vinay Kumar thanked the Chief Minster for dedicating projects worth Rs 60 crore in his constituency. He said that the people of Dharti-Dhar had always been loyal to the Congress and because of very reason, it was completely ignored by BJP. He urged for ITI to be opened in Dharti-Dhar area and said that a extension counter or a branch of Co-operative bank would soon be opened in the area. He also urged for opening a Government Degree College at Dadahu and upgrade the 50 bed hospital, Dadahu to 100 bed. He urged for mettaling of Dadahu- Baila road. Addressing the gathering MLA from Paonta Sahib Shri Kirnesh Jung blamed the BJP of cribbing for funds for development of the area throughout their tenure. The Dharti-Dhar area was completely ignored by them, he said.  Previously  eight panchayats of Dharti-Dhar, part of  Paonta constituency were now in Renuka have been given added priority from the view of development.
