Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today called for collective efforts by  the medical fraternity and other social organizations to augment government's initiatives  in providing better Medicare to the people.The Minister was speaking during inauguration of free medical camp at Government Middle School, Kotli Charkan, Bishnah here today .The Minister exhorted upon the need for organizing more free medical camps throughout the state especially at rural and remote areas so that people could avail specialized medical consultancy at their doorsteps.

 Expressing gratitude to the medical  team, the Minister applauded the efforts of health department and social organizations for organizing the camp and said that the initiative will go a long way in improving the health standards of the people. The medical team  comprised of B.M.O Dr B L Choudhary, Dr Kailash Chander, Dr Payal Gupta, Dr Sushil Sharma, Dr Narinder Kour, Dr Manoj and other medical staff from Sub-District hospital, Bishnah. During the camp, more than 2000 patients were checked and were given free medicines.

Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stone for upgradation of road from Kot to Kalakam and Link Road from J.A to village Burn under NABARD at Kot to be constructed at estimated cost of Rs.4.91 crore.The Minister directed for completion of these road projects within stipulated time schedule. He said that these projects will provide a better connectivity to the people thus giving a fillip to economic activities in the area. The augmentation of roads will meet the long pending demand of the people of the area, he added.While interacting with the locals, the Minister was apprised of various demands and problems like construction of lanes, blacktopping of roads, sanitation, construction of tube-wells besides adequate power and water supply.Responding to the grievances of the locals, the Minister assured them that requisite steps will be taken to mitigate the same in a time bound manner. He also directed the concerned officers to reach out to the people and and take all requisite measures in this regard.The Minister said that government  is keen to improve amenities in the constituency and asked the concerned officials to make sustained efforts to achieve tangible results.Later, the Minister attended the final match of Raju Memorial Cricket Tournament at Tawa as Chief Guest and asked the youth to take up sports to lead a healthier life and defeat the menace of drugs.
