Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today said the government is taking one step after the other for improving sanitation facilities in border areas of the state.“Equipping every village in Suchetgarh with modern sanitation facilities including construction of lanes, drains and public toilets is government’s topmost priority,” the Minister said, adding that the government is working relentlessly for realizing the PM Narendra Modi’s dream of making Swachh Bharat.The Minister was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating lanes and drains in border village, Sai Khurd constructed under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) at the cost of Rs. 11.60 lakh. He also laid foundation stone of Community Hall and Phase-I of Cluster model village, Sai Khurd at the estimated cost of Rs. 25 lakh and 21.59 crore respectively.

The Minister also urged the villagers to consider preservation of public assets as their prime responsibility and use them for the benefit of the society. They should refrain from throwing garbage on the streets and canals to reduce the risk of waterborne diseases, he stressed.Meanwhile, the Minister also convened a public grievances redressal camp in Suchetgarh to review the actions taken by the concerned departments on the decisions done in last public meeting and listening to the problems of the common masses.The villagers hailing from Badyal Brahmana, Chandu Chak, Abdullian, Sai, Jasore, Dablehar, Satriyan, Baje Chak, Korotana Khurd, Agra Chak, Hanso Chak and other adjoining areas apprised the Minister about the problems being faced by them related to supply of essential commodities, repair of transformers, irrigation facilities, education, healthcare and road connectivity.After listening the problems and demands of locals, the Minister said the government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps and special efforts are being made for ensuring uninterrupted power supply in rural areas.
