District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting to review implementation of various schemes of Rural Development Department (RDD) in the district.During the meeting progress of developmental works being executed under MLA CDF and MPLADS funds, besides work completed under MGNREGA, 14 FC, SBM and convergence scheme was reviewed threadbare.On the occasion, the DDC directed the officers to work with added zeal so that the set targets are achieved in time. He said schemes like MGNREGA are meant to create durable assets in the far flung areas and to provide livelihood to the economically weaker sections of the society.He further stressed on increasing man work-days under MGNREGA with proper verification of job cards besides seeding of job cards with AADHAR at the earliest. He also directed BDOs to increase the completion rate of works commenced under MGNREGA.
The DDC stressed on greater transparency in implementation of developmental works and judicious use of funds by submitting utilization certificate under MPLAD on time. He called for proper coordination among concerned Departments for effective and timely completion of developmental projects and their subsequent benefits to intending sections.DDC also reviewed 41 works of School Education Department under CAPEX to be executed by Rural Development Department in the district.DDC also took stock of flagship program Swatch Bharat Mission (SBM) and called for persistent information, education and communication activities to spread awareness among all stakeholders about the personal hygiene and cleanliness in the surroundings.He exhorted upon the officers to fix the target of achieving ODF status for panchayats in each block by the end of current financial year. He said the task of constructing IHHL units should be done on war footing and also stressed for regular updation of MIS data on SBM portal.ACD, DPO, XENs and BDOs were present in the occasion.
