The Committee on Government Assurances of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Tuesday directed the  authorities of Roads and Buildings department (R&B) to clear all land acquisition and Forest clearance issues so that timely execution of works is ensured.The Committee which met here under the Chairmanship of MLA, Nawang Rigzin Jora to discuss the Action Taken by the R&B department on the Government Assurances given on the floor of the House from time to time.Legislators, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Dina Nath Bhagat, Dr. Krishan Lal Bhagat, Noor Mohammad Sheikh and Javid Hassan Beigh attended the meeting and  highlighted various developmental issues relating to their respective Constituencies.The Committee reviewed in detail the status of various ongoing developmental works being executed by different executing agencies in the state and directed the concerned authorities to expedite the works on the projects ensuring their timely completion.The Committee directed the Commissioner Secretary concerned to constitute a team comprising Chief Engineer PMSGY, Kashmir and Jammu Divisions to investigate the  issues of construction of  Guzzad-Chirdi-Ladda and Perlakh- Bararria roads and submit the report in the next meeting positively, adding that over 20,000 population   has been  facing hardships due to non- construction of these roads.  It also directed the concerned Chief Engineer to provide JCB as per requirement of the areas.The Committee also directed the BRO authorities to remove the illegal construction erected on Dhar road from Slathia Chowk to BRO Office, Udhampur.The Committee directed the concerned authorities to consult the members while formulating the DPRs of developmental projects and also involve them to clear the bottlenecks hindering the execution of works. It also directed the concerned for obtaining NoCs from forest and other concerned departments before allotting the works.Commissioner Secretary, PWD (R&B), Sanjeev Verma briefed the Committee about the action taken by the Department on the Government Assurances.Director Planning, Tariq Ahmed, Chief Engineer, PMGSY Jammu, Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu, Chief Engineer, R&B Kashmir, Special Secretary, (Tech) Forest Department, SEs and Exens from the different agencies and districts besides other senior officers of R&B and Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
