The Doklam border dispute between India and China will be resolved "very soon", Home Minister Rajnath Singh announced on Monday."India wants to maintain good relations with all neighbouring countries. There will be a solution to the Doklam issue very soon and China will also initiate a positive move from its side," the minister said.Speaking at the pipping ceremony of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Rajnath Singh said India had never attacked any country and had no ambition to expand its borders."India is the only country which has never attacked any country nor does it have an ambition to expand its borders."Our security forces are equipped to handle any situation (on the border)," he added.Indian and Chinese troops have been locked in a stand-off since June at Doklam in the Sikkim section of the Bhutan-China border. Beijing has accused Indian troops of intruding into its territory and demanded their withdrawal.

Rajnath Singh said New Delhi invited all heads of neighbouring countries on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony in 2014."The move was not only to shake hands but also a step for a meeting of hearts. I want to convey to all neighbouring countries that we (India) want peace, not confrontation."The Minister hailed the ITBP for its exemplary services and various security duties.A total of 1,654 ITBP personnel -- from Constables to Commandants -- were promoted on the occasion."When I see theses jawans, I feel there is no power in the world can cast an evil eye on India," Rajnath Singh said.Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, Intelligence Bureau Director Rajiv Jain and ITBP Director General R.K. Pachnanda were present on the occasion.
