Rajouri Admin holds camps for 70 militancy affected families

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today convened a meeting to consider and finalize cases of compensation under SRO-43 for militancy affected families. More than 70 such families attended the meeting-cum-camp.ACR Abdul Qayoom Mir, SDMs, and Tehsildars of Koteranka, Khwas, Darhal, Thanamandi, Rajouri, Qila Darhal, Nowshera, Sunderbani, Beripattan, Tryath, and Kalakote attended the meeting. More than 170 people from affected families including next of kin of 61 people killed in militancy related incidents participated in the camp 

Case-wise discussions were held for completion of formalities which remained pending due to lack of knowledge among affected families.Formalities related to postmortem report, ration card, police report / FIR, qualification, age-proof, involvement certificate and other documents were completed, while it was decided to take up with Government the issue of time-bar and with General Administration Department in case of delayed dependence certificates. 

Cases were approved for cash compensation of Rs 4 lakh to each family as Rs 1 Lakh was already provided to them at the time of incident.The cases approved include 8 from Tehsil Rajouri, 10 from Koteranka, 2 from Manjakote, 4 from Khwas, 3 from Nowshera, 3 from Sunderbani, 5 from Darhal, 3 from Kalakote, 2 from Tryath and 7 from Thanamandi. Meanwhile, 14 other cases were taken up for processing. A total of 47 cases were completed apart from 14 processed for further formalities.On the occasion, the DC Rajouri counseled the families for completion of formalities and informed that all the cases will be processed and taken up with higher authorities for compensation and benefits of scheme to NOK of deceased persons. He highlighted the commitment of District Administration in endeavour to policy of State Government for reaching out to all the families in far flung areas for delivery of justice in such cases.Tehsildars were directed to attend the families personally and furnish the remaining formalities within one week for disposal of cases which remained pending. People from Khwas, Narla, Budhal, Sakri, Darhal, Sunderbani, Nowshera, Kalakote and several remote locations attended the camp. Affected families were also counseled for furnishing details of children of deceased parents for assistance to be provided by the district administration for education and scholarships.
