The 3- day historic Sankri Devta Mela commenced today with great religious fervor and enthusiasm at Sankri, Panchari.Tehsildar Panchari Narinder Sharma, inaugurated the mela.Colorful cultural programmes were organised by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages during the first day of the mela. Besides, Department of Youth Services and Sports also organised various sports activities which saw the participation of large number of students of different educational institutions.The District administration has made elaborate arrangements of water, power, security,medicare etc for smooth celebration of the event.Among others, BDO Panchari Rupali Vaid, BMO Panchari Dr. Anil Saloch, SHO Pushap Jeet Singh besides other officers, members of Sankri Development Committee and large number of prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
