Abdul Haq Khan unfurls Tricolour as chief guest on the eve of 71st ID function at DPL Kupwara; High lights developmental scenario of the district.Announces Rs.5 lakhs for promotion of sports activities.Distributes trophies, certificates, awards among best performers in different fields of the events.In connection with celebration of 71st Independence Day ,the Police and Civil administration in collaboration with other departments organized a main and impressive function at District Police Lines Kupwara with national fervour and gaiety with playing of Shahnaie Waddan by Information Department,Kupwara followed by arrival of Chief Guest .The Minister for Rural Developmnt,Panchayat Raj,Law and Justice Abdul Haq Khan was chief guest unfurls the National Flag at DPL parade ground ,inspects parade with SSP, parade commander ,took salute on March Past presented by the contingents of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police ,Central Reserve Police Force, Fire and Emergency Services ,Forest Protection Force ,Home Guards and Brass Bands besides school troops of different educational institutes arranged by Education, Youth Services and Sports departments to mark the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister highlighted the progress achieved by the nation after freedom under dynamic leaderships of the country and the leaders and countrymen who laid their sacrifices for freedom struggle are being remembered on this day, we are paying rich tributes to our countrymen for their contribution.Referring to the development of the state the Minister reiterated the commitments of present government lead by Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti that all basic amenities to the people of all regions and sections of the society for this purpose the concerted efforts are on to complete developmental projects would be completed to provide basic facilities at their door steps.Haq Khan said that developmental scenario in the district is at par of the other district in this connection the developmental progress like streamlining of road connectivity, Health care, Drinking Water and Power supply, transportation ,Irrigation facilities are being provided to the public to avail the facilities. Under Rural Developmental Schemes Rs.300 Cr. are being spent under road connectivity , under which 34 bridges casting Rs. 133 core , 11 Model villages are being developed on Modern lines for this purpose Rs.204 core have been earmarked under BADP Rs.1600 Cr. have been earmarked under skill development component where under 1.25 lakhs youths are being trained under skill development and first batch have been sent to Bangalore for the purpose , Rs. 1.50 lakh women have been covered under Ummed Scheme, 1700 low cast houses are being provided to house less beneficiaries. 4 Water Reserve Tanks are under execution in Lolab constituency while the Hapthnar plant has been commissioned to the public earlier,Sanitation measures are in progress in all rural and urban areas in the district launched by the district administration and RDD authority in collaboration with convergence partners and the polythene products have been banned in the district which is health and environmental threat to the administration as well as public in general for this purpose. He said that present government is trying it is best to complete all the on-going developmental projects for commission to the public during financial year. He also said that Rs. 210 core have been released under MGNREGA under RDD department, to provide basic facilities besides valuable assist to the public at their nearest. The Minister sought full cooperation, coordination and support from the general public and executing agencies for carrying out the developmental activities in the district for timely completion of the on-going projects to commission the same for provide basic amenities to the public at their nearest destinations as the peaceful atmosphere is part and partial for the overall development of the nation .The Colourful cultural programmes, ethnic, deardwels items were also presented by the Education and Youth services department and Banghdah. The Minister announces Rs. 5 lakhs for promotion of Sport activities in the district on the demand of DCC Kupwara on the occasion to mark the day, the best performers in various field were awarded by the district administration through the chief guest at DPL,Kupwara . The District Development Commissioner Khalid Jahangir, SSP Kupwara Shamsheer Hussain,Officers of district administration,civil and security agencies ,representatives of different political parties,respectables,invitees and public participated to witness the proceedings of the function.
