Secretary School Education holds video conference with DCs, CEOs

Reviews functioning of educational institutions, Stresses on augmenting facilities in schools

Secretary, School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah today chaired a review meeting of education sector with all DCs and CEOs of the J&K State through video conferencing.Director School Education, Kashmir, Director SSA, JDP were also present in the meeting.Progress with regard to augmentation of toilet, drinking water and sports facilities in the schools besides status of fencing of schools was reviewed during the meeting.Secretary, School Education urged DCs to review the functioning of education sector in their respective districts on weekly basis and also conduct inspections in schools on regular basis.  All the DCs and CEOs were requested to prepare proposals under convergence scheme to remove any deficiency with regard to availability of basic facilities in all educational institutions.Secretary, School Education informed that the practicals in science subjects shall be restored immediately as per past practice and vacancies of teaching staff, particularly in far flung areas will be filled up very shortly. He stressed on 100% completion of syllabus by the teachers and to ensure that attendance of students remains over 90% in order for the students to qualify to sit in the examination.
