Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today asserted that providing   basic amenities to the people was prime concern of Government.

The Dy CM was speaking at a public grievance redressal camp here at Billawar which was attended by people from village Bhaddu, Marhoon, Baggan, Katli, Dewal, Mandli, Kishanpur, Dadwara, Ramkot and Thainthoo.The camp was convened by the Dy CM as part of the government’s endures to provide effective and transparent governance to the people living in remote areas.   The people projected various demands seeking repair of existing and construction of new roads, augmentation of PHE and PDD infra, posting of adequate staff and upgrading of infrastructure  in schools, introduction of more trades in ITI,  clearance of MGNREGA liabilities, separation of ration card, adequate mobile towers, filling vacant posts of Doctors and upgrading of medical infrastructure.Dr Nirmal Singh gave a patient hearing and assured to resolve their issues on priority. He also said that extending basic amenities to the people living in far of places was the prime concern of the State dispensation. He further said that for consolidating PDD infra Rs 4 Crores have been spent in Billawar constituency. He said augmentation was done to overcome problem of low voltage and   power breakdowns. 

He also directed the concerned authorities to keep close check on illegal  PDD connections  and deal with the defaulters  with iron hand. He asked the PDD to motivate the offenders to pay their PDD dues on time.Responding to the demand for augmentation of drinking water, Dr Nirmal Singh exhorted upon the PHE engineers to formulate a comprehensive plan as per the topography of the area to utilize the natural water sources and divert the excess water to the areas having inadequate water supply. He also encouraged the locals to participate pro actively in the planning of development works and come with innovative ideas.A deputation of PHE casual workers also met Dy CM and projected  their demands.  The  Dy CM assured them that the State Govt. is already deliberating on their issues.Earlier, the Dy CM participated in the plantation drive at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Billawar. He also interacted with the students and appealed them to understand the concepts of a subject rather than mugging up the facts.Dy CM asked the teaching fraternity to encourage interactive learning among the students and engage them through innovative methods.SDM Billawar, SDPO Basohli, BDOs, Tehsildars, Engineers, TSO, social activist Mamta Singh and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
