Minister for Industry and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga convened a public meeting here at Poonch and listened to people's issues.Besides general public, the meeting was attended by Member legislative council Pardeep Sharma District Development Commissioner, Tariq Ahamad Zargar, Custodian Chackan da Bagh, Tanveer khan, Gen Manager DIC Poonch, executive engineers of PWD,PHE,PDD & other district officer from administration.During the meeting public raised several issues related to development including construction of "Bands" in flood prone areas, early settlement of all refugees issues, construction of motorable road from Dara ziarat to Krishna Ghatti.They also demanded augmentation of drinking water, improvement of power supply scenario , adequate ration supply and construction of cremation ghats at Degwar and Bainch.Responding to the demands, the Minister said that providing basic amenities to the people, specially in far off areas is the priority of present government.
He directed Deputy Commissioner Poonch to hold regular public grievances camps to redress the grievances of people in rural pockets.“The district administration needs to be prompt in resolving basic issues of public which are in its competency & project the other issues to the government in a time bound manner so that appropriate steps can be taken to serve the people” the Minister asserted.The Minister asked the officers of industry department to hold regular awareness camps to encourage unemployed educated youth to opt for self employment schemes.“Young and educated people can become successful entrepreneurs, the need is to motivate and guide them” he said.He said the district has huge potential for small scale units and to tap that the department should put in zealous and dedicated efforts to encourage young entrepreneurs.Earlier, the deputy commissioner gave a brief of achievements registered in the district under different schemes and annual budget. He also discussed certain issues of development which need immediate action.
