A Patiala court today sentenced a revenue Patwari and seven others for three years in a vigilance case. Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau said on the basis of a complaint, the Vigilance Bureau Patiala range had registered a case against accused Sukhwinder Singh revenue Patwari, Rashminder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh ex-Sarpanch, Jarnail Singh Nambardar of village Kheri Fatan, Mashhoor Singh, Buta Singh, Tajwinder Singh, Ravinder Kumar of Samana and Satwinder Kaur of Dirba, Sangrur on 10-01-2008 under sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of IPC and Section 13(1) (d), 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act at VB Police Station Patiala.He informed that the accused patwari have forged a ‘Fard’ of land measuring 107 Kanal 10 marla in connivance with the above seven accused and got its registration at a cost of Rs. 48 lac only whereas the actual cost of the land was Rs. 1.72 crore thereby caused a loss to the state exchequer.In this case the court of Additional Session Judge Patiala Sh. Ravdeep Singh Hundal today sentenced all the accused after finding them guilty with three years imprisonment and imposed fine of Rs. 3,000 each whereas Ravinder Kumar was acquitted by the court.
