A workshop on Disaster level Interface on Disaster Risk Reduction was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC).The workshop was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW) in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority Bandipora, District Administration, and CARITAS India.The workshop was aimed at sensitizing the stake holders about disaster preparedness in case of natural calamities to minimize the loss of human life and property.On the occasion, Project Coordinator briefed the workshop about various achievements through power point presentation and said that 10 villages in the vicinity of Wular Lake were identified as Disaster High-Risk Villages. She said that the people of these villages were sensitized about preparedness for disasters through awareness & training programs conducted in these villages under 'Shirkat' project.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the officers to fully coordinate with the Disaster Management Authority and the JKASW to make their programmes a success. He asked the organizers to work with dedication and full spirit in future. The workshop was attended by senior officers from police, district administration, members of DDMA and JKASW besides community members of flood prone villages.
