Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash today inspected the Alasteng Water Reservoir to take stock of its functioning.The Minister called upon the concerned to make concerted efforts to ensure the facility is made fully functional soon to ensure regular supply of potable water to the people.She asked the officials to follow the DPR of this public importance project in letter and spirit.On the occasion, the Minister was informed that the multi-crore project is aimed to supply safe drinking water to Zakura, Beehama, Hodora, Habak, Shampora areas and would have the capacity to store water for up to a month.Later, Ms Naqash visited Zakura and its adjoining areas to review the progress on drainage work. She directed the concerned authorities to expedite the work so that locals are facilitated.During the visit, the Minister also interacted with several deputations and received the first-hand appraisal of their issues and demands. While giving a patient hearing to them she assured that all of their genuine issues would keenly be looked into and redressed in a time bound manner.Responding to the public demands, the Minister instructed the authorities to make the estimation of various projected developmental works.The Minister directed officials for surface drain clearance and routine cleaning of drains, roads, and lanes so that they do not choke and function properly as intended.
