High level central team arrives in Srinagar to review PMDP implementation

An inter-departmental team of senior central government officers headed by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi arrived here today to review the progress in the implementation of the projects under Prime Minister’s Developmental Package for J&K.The Central Government has so far released around Rs 36000 crore out of the total developmental package of Rs 80000 crore which was announced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for J&K in November 2015.The central team included senior officers from Union Ministries of Home Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Human Resource Development, Youth Affairs and Sports, Agriculture and Family Welfare, Tourism, Urban Development, Defense, Textiles, Road Transport & Highways, Finance, Power, Rural Development, Water Resources, New and Renewable Energy, Skill Development and NITI Aayog.The central team will be holding extensive deliberations with the senior State Government officials led by Chief Secretary B B Vyas here tomorrow to review the progress of projects under PMDP and other flagship developmental projects.The central team will also discuss the bottlenecks impeding the execution of these projects and how to expedite the work.
