The employees of Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts and Handlooms Corporation would be provided three percent DA with effect from 01.07.2016. This was decided in the 176th meeting of Board of Directors of HP State Handlooms and Handicrafts Corporation held here today. The meeting was presided over by Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.Speaking on the occasion, Shri Agnihotri said that the Development Commissioner for Handicrafts, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has sanctioned four projects for the state with the total outlay of Rs 61.40 lakh. He said that these projects are 'Chamba Rumal' Embroidery at Chamba, Miniature Paintings at Rait in Kangra district, Metal Craft at Chamba and Shawl Weaving at Dulehar in Una district. He said that under these projects, 160 artisans would be benefited.
Shri Agnihotri said that the corporation has registered total sale of Rs. 771.23 lakh during the first quarter of the current financial year. He said that the corporation has also participated in Textiles India-2017 at Gandhinagar in Gujrat. He said that the Corporation has also sent proposal to organise Gandhi Shilp Bajar at Una, Hamirpur, Mandi and Dharmshala. Proposal has also been sent to organise exhibitions at Kolkata, Patna, Lucknow, Agra and Varanasi during the current financial year, he added,Industries Minister said that the Corporation has also participated in Hong Kong Gift and Premium Show held at Hong Kong during the month of April, this year. He directed the Corporation to diversify its activities so as to make the organization profitable and self sustainable.Vice Chairman HP Handicrafts & Handloom Corporation Shri Chander Shekar, while welcoming the Industries Minister said that the Corporation would work with missionary zeal to come upto the expectations of the State Government.Managing Director, HP State Handicrafts & Handloom Corporation Shri Ram Kumar Gautam conducted the proceedings of the meeting.Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Dr. A.J.V.Prasad, Special Secretary Finance Shri D.D.Sharma, non-official members of the BoD and other senior officers attended the meeting.
