The District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Haroon Malik, today convened a meeting of officers to reviews the arrangements for upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the district.The meeting was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Commandant of 43 Bn CRPF, SDM’s, CEO, CMO and Police Officers of the District.The DDC was apprised by the concerned officers regarding arrangements to be made for smooth conduct of Independence Day celebration at District Headquarter and all Tehsil Headquarters.The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at Sports Stadium, Budgam where the Chief Guest will unfurl the national Flag and take salute during the march past.
Similarly, flag hosting ceremonies and march pasts will be conducted at Tehsil Level also where concerned SDM’s will attend as Chief Guest. The meeting was told that contingents of J&K Police, JKAP,CRPF, NCC contingents from schools and students from various educational institutions will participate in the march past.Regarding other arrangements, the DDC was told that the PDD & PHE Department will provide uninterrupted power and water supply at the prescribed location from 13 August.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC called for close coordination among the concerned departments for smooth conduct of the Independence Day celebrations. The DDC also directed the officers to identify the young sportspersons and other individuals who have made a mark in their respective professions so that they could be felicitated on the occasion.
