Rs 11 cr to be spent on upgradation of infrastructure in Katra : Ajay Nanda

Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda said that a total of Rs. 11 crore would be spent on the development of Katra town this fiscal which will primarily focus on lanes, drains and blacktopping of interior roads.The Minister said during his extensive tour of the Katra town during which he reviewed the development scenario of the town. The Minister visited main bazaar and other wards of the town to identify the areas which need to be developed and equip with improved basic facilities.During the tour, the Minister visited various wards and identified the spots for which instructions were passed to prepare detailed project reports at an earliest for their development.Out of the total Rs 11 crore to be spent on upgrading works, Rs. One crore would be provided by Urban Local Bodies and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has agreed to provide Rs 10 crore for the development of the Katra town.On the occasion, various public deputations met the Minister and apprised him of their issues and concerns. The Minister assured them that all the projects demands and issues of development would be taken up one by one at the earliest.Nanda said that the Government is committed to provide improved basic facilities to all regions of the State particularly to far-off areas. He said the development of the Katra town on modern lines is high on the priority of the present dispensation.
