District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar today held a meeting to discuss the arrangements for Independence Day celebrations.The meeting was attended by ASP Sanjay Singh Rana, ACR Abdul Sattar, ACD M.Y. Malik, CMO Dr. L.D. Bhagat, CEO B.S. Jaral, Principal Degree College Hemla Aggarwal and other officers from civil and police wings were present on the occasion.It was informed in the meeting that the day would start with Shehnai Vadan by District Information Centre Reasi, followed by hoisting of flag at sports stadium bus stand and march past by the contingents from Police, NCC, Forest Protection Force and various educational institutes. Thereafter, cultural programme based on national songs will be presented. Threadbare discussion was held on issues relating to security, traffic management, seating arrangements, uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation besides illumination and decoration of important buildings etc.

Chief Medical Officer was directed to deploy an ambulance with all necessary arrangements at the venue on the day of full day rehearsal and on the Independence Day. Instructions were also passed for setting up of make shift toilets, parking facilities for selected vehicles and pressing into service fire services. It was decided that EO municipality would ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation in and around the venue and the information and employment departments would arrange PAS for the function.The DDC constituted various committees of officers to ensure proper arrangements and accomplishment of the task well in time and impressed upon the officers to put in all out efforts for smooth and successful celebration of the national event. The CEO will properly identify and scrutinize the cultural items, the DDC said.
