Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today inaugurated Improved and augmented Water Supply Schemes at Dehari and Ramnagar Town in presence of MLA Ramnagar, R.S Pathania.Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Niraj Kumar, Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control, Jammu Rajeev Gandotra were also present on the occasion.During the inaugural ceremony of the Dehari -WSS, the Minister stressed that as many as 2732 souls of Dehari, Khaba-Dater, Thakar Dwara, Bagad, Deoti, Agla Padder, Targai, Pandita Da Paddar areas of the tehsil Ramnagar would be benefitted because of Dehari Water Supply Scheme, which has been completed at an estimated cost of 168 lakhs under the ‘National Rural Drinking Water Programme. At Ramnagar, the Minister inaugurated the Water Supply Scheme Ramnagar Town Phase –I under LIC. The scheme would ensure sufficient availability of drinking water in the town and people would not face any shortage of water now, said the Minister.  The Minister also planted saplings at Sub-division PHE Complex Ramnagar.

'The Government is committed to provide basic amenities to the common masses', stressed the Minister during a public meeting at Ramnagar.  He further said that providing drinking water to every village is one of the important agendas of present dispensation and assured full cooperation from his department in this regard. The Minister further announced 25 hand pumps for Ramnagar.The Minister directed the concerned to take immediate steps to improvise the irrigation system in the area. He further asked the concerned officers to complete all the related projects in a time bound manner.He said that the process of regularization of need based workers would be done very soon after the proper verification of the record. Several deputations met the Minister and put forth their problems and demands including construction of Kuhls and water tank at Dehari.  The Minister directed the concerned officers to resolve the issues raised by the common masses at the earliest.Later, the Minister also chaired a meeting to review various schemes of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control at Dak Bungalow, Ramnagar and directed the concerned officers to expedite the pace of on-going works.Among others, ACR Subhash Chander Dogra, SE Hydraulic circle Udhampur J.S.Chib, ACR Subhash Dogra, CPO Ashok Khajuria, Ex-En PHE Udhampur Ashok Sharma besides officers and prominent citizens attended the programme.
