India and Pakistan on Sunday night resorted the indiscriminate cross firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowgam sector, reports said on Monday. The fresh cross firing comes a day after many from both sides including an off duty Indian Army soldier were killed in Poonch district. Two Pakistani soldiers were also killed and six others were injured by the Indian troops, reports said. The Indian Army on Monday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naugam sector of north Kashmir by killing two militants."A group of militants tried to infiltrate from across the border. They were challenged by the troops, following which a gunfight ensued," said GoC 19 Infantry Division R T Kalita. He said two bodies were recovered on Monday morning. "The operation is going on," he said.On Sunday, Pakistan army initiated “unprovoked and indiscriminate” firing of small arms, automatics and mortars in Poonch sector, along the LoC, they said. The Indian army retaliated strongly and effectively.Pertinently, after every such incident along the LoC both India and Pakistan accuse each other of violating the ceasefire, which is in place since 2003.
