Narendra Modi visits Israeli flower farm, chrysanthemum named after him

Soon after his arrival in Tel Aviv in what is the first ever prime ministerial visit from India to Israel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited a flower farm here where the first bunch of new Chrysanthemum flower was named after him.Accompanied by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Modi visited the Danziger Flower Farm on way from Ben Gurion Airport to Jerusalem. The farm is engaged in the research, breeding, development, propagation, and production of varieties of cut flowers, the External Affairs Ministry said. The two leaders were briefed about the research technologies being used there for floriculture. Cutting-edge agricultural technologies of Volcani centre, the research arm of Israeli Ministry of Agriculture, were also displayed and explained. These include remote sensing, GIS, and post-harvest technologies. The first bunch of a chrysanthemum flower named after Modi was presented to the Indian Prime Minister. The flower has been named "Modi".
