HPSIDC earns profit of Rs. 10 crore

Himachal Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (HPSIDC) earned a total profit of Rs. 10 crore during the year 2011-12 through its various activities which was a record in itself. This was revealed in a meeting of Board of Directors of the Corporation held here today under the Chairmanship of Industries Minister, Sh, Kishan Kapoor.  Shri Kapoor lauded the efforts of the management and said that HPSIDC had made remarkable improvement in its working during this period. He said that the recovery under the term loan portfolio was satisfactory and corporation was confident of achieving the projected target within stipulated period. He said that the corporation had disbursed term loan worth Rs. 101.93 lakh till 30th November, 2012 against the target of Rs. 60 lakh for the whole year. He said that recovery of principal upto 30th November, 2012 was Rs.306.37 lakh. Industries Minister said that the Corporation has received an amount of Rs. 272.92 lakh in the existing industrial area against the target of Rs. 200 lakh for the whole year from Industrial Area Development. He said that Corporation has also received Rs. 254.05 lakh from sale of industrial plots at Davni industrial area. The Board also reviewed the activities of the engineering wing of the corporation and desired that due emphasis would be laid on timely completion of works along with maintaining high quality standard. Shri Bharat Khera, Managing Director, HPSIDC gave overview of the operation of the corporation till November, 2012. While presiding over  the 158th meeting of Board of Directors of Himachal Pradesh State Handicraft and Handloom Corporation Ltd., Shri Kapoor said that the Corporation was able to achieve a net profit of Rs. 68.04 lakh during the year 2011-12 and was also able to achieve  all time sale record of Rs. 1960 lakh during this period. Kapoor said that recently during his visit to Bangalore he had a detailed meeting with  the functionaries of Karanataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (KSHDC) and it agreed upon that a counter would be provided to H.P. State Handicraft and Handloom Corporation at Jayanagar, Bangalore as well as at Mysore. He said that as per the MoU already signed with KSHDC from July, 2012 to November, 2012, the total retail sale of the Corporation was Rs. 10.15 lakh at counter’s of Himachal Emporium at Cavery Emporium, Bangalore against the sale of Rs. 85,000 during the corresponding period of last year. He said that by getting more counters at Jayanagar and Mysore, sale of Himachal Handicraft and Handloom would get further boost. Presiding over the 210th meeting of Board of Directors of Himachal Pradesh Khadi and Gramodyog Board, Shri Kapoor said that the Board had witnessed 37 percent increase in its sale during the year 2012-13 as compared to the sale record during the corresponding period of last year till November, 2012. He said that carding and finishing activities has also registered an increase of 14 percent. Shri J.S. Rana, Commissioner, Industries, Shri S.C. Srivastava, Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh Financial Corporation, Non Official Members of Board of Directors and other senior officers attended the meeting.
