The implementation of various centrally sponsored Schemes (CSS)/flagship Programme of Agriculture sector during the last fiscal, was aimed to increase the production and productivity. Funds to the tune of Rs. 1.48 crore stands released during 2016-17. Against this, Rs.148.989 lakh was utilized under various activities of Agriculture sector which accounts 95% achievement by providing latest technology, distribution of agricultural inputs, technical and financial assistance under implementation of various components for the benefits of the farming community.
The department conducts series of awareness camps in nook and corner of the district to create awareness among the farmers in general and the educated un-employed youth in particular about the benefits of the Agriculture schemes.The Government is committed to provide all financial and other sucker to the farming community including distribution of Hybrid seeds, vegetables, Agriculture machinery, greenhouses facilitated irrigation to the crops by way of Irrigation Pumps, shallows wells, tube wells, water harvesting tanks and focus was given to the Apiculture industry by providing 560 Bee colonies on 50% cost to the beneficiaries which is an employment generation schemes.
Over Rs.88 lakhs were provided as cost of agriculture imputes to the farmers of the district and the assistance provided to the farming community on various items were distributed among the farmers in shape of 05 tractors, 126 tillers, 103 polygene houses, construction of 03 godowns, 20 brush cutters, 11 motorized 120 manually operated carts, 156 Irrigation pumps ,108 spray pumps, 97 toolkits,05 power weepers, 60 drum seeders, digging of 38 tube wells, providing of 560 bee colonies, 03 paddy threshers, 09 water harvesting tanks, 02 motivators on subsidized rates during the last fiscal.While under Soil Health Mission (SHM) 4469 samples have been collected and tested, 14705 farmers have been covered under the programme during the period.An outlay of Rs.160.14 lakhs for current fiscal have been proposed for the district .The department has distributed various kinds of high yielding varieties of hybrid seeds such as Paddy, Maize, Potato, vegetables to the farmers, 167 hectares of land have been brought under Seed Village Programme (SVP) at different locations in the district to produce quality certified seed for the farming community, introduction of traditional variety of MUSHKIBUDJI has been made by way of demonstration process, 40 Kanals of land have been brought under high brig crops of tomato cultivation this year by the department under the close supervision of the district administration so a garden as mono crop has been established at district headquarter.The thrust of department is for year 2017-18 on production of Hybrid vegetable, diversification of farming system though bee keeping and Mushroom produce, promotion of double cropping both rabid and Kharief seasons (during the winter and summer), in general to increase the production, make the farmer self reliance and to improve the socio economic condition and change the social life of the farming community.
