District development commissioner, Ramesh Kumar held a detailed review of FCS&CA department here today.AD FCS&CA, Ajay Salaan, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Jaideep Singh, Food Safety Officer, Tehsil Supply Officers and store keepers were present in the meeting.DDC took a detailed review of the stock position of ration, its availability and distribution across the district. He also held review of tehsil wise status of ration distribution under National Food Security Act (NFSA) and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSSFES).The DDC called for maintenance of regular supply of all commodities viz LPG, Ration and Kerosene Oil in all the tehsils and further stressed on timely distribution of ration. He also issued strict directions for displaying information regarding consumer rights at sale centers of the department.
He directed AD FCS&CA to oversee the stock and supply position in far flung areas and ensure that every soul is facilitated with adequate essentials. Regular updation of Ration cards, Adhaar seeding shall be done on priority, DDC added.He also took review of the working of Legal Metrology unit of Kathua and called for regular market checks to discourage overpricing, under weighing and ensure adherence to rules and standards.The Food Safety Officer was directed to conduct market checking on regular basis and book the defaulters. He also directed authorities to collect samples to keep a check on the menace of adulteration.The DDC constituted a joint inspection team of FCS&CA, Legal Metrology and Food Safety for keep to keep a check on prices, quality and availability of essential commodities.
