Scores of Public Health Engineering (PHE) daily wagers and casual labours Tuesday held state government responsible for the death of two casual labours, who died due to cardiac arrest in past one week.The daily wagers and casual labours holding the photographs of the deceased PHE daily wagers assembled at Srinagar’s press Enclave and chanted slogans against the government.The protesters also threatened government of halting the water supply.Sajad Ahmad Parray, president of the forum said that the wrong policies adopted by the state government has resulted in the sufferings o the daily wagers and casual labours.“Our two colleagues died identified as Azhar Ahmad of Chadoora and Irfan Ahmad Bhat of Fateh Kadal died due to cardiac arrest. It is state government which is responsible for their death,” he blamed, adding that the government answer that how long the daily wagers and casual labours have to wait.He said that the government apathy has resulted in the immense hardships to the employees. “The government has failed to come up to the expectations of the employees as all the promises done with us have proven hoax on the ground,” he said.Threatening to halt the water supply, Parray said, “We will halt the water supply in case the government fails to take concrete steps within the period of eight days,” he said, adding that the government will be directly held responsible for the action.Meanwhile, the protesters later dispersed peacefully.
